Archiving and Digital Preservation Policy
The Journal of Sustainable Civil Engineering and Technology (JSCET) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, availability and accessibility of its published scholarly content. The journal maintains digital archiving arrangements to protect the scholarly record against data loss, system failure or disruption to journal operations.
1. Digital Archiving
JSCET preserves its published content through the following mechanisms:
- Institutional repository: Published articles are archived through the institutional repository of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) where applicable.
- Journal hosting infrastructure: The journal’s published content is maintained on its secure journal hosting platform.
- Database and system backups: Journal content and associated publication data are backed up regularly using the journal’s database and institutional information technology infrastructure.
2. Long-Term Preservation
JSCET maintains appropriate technical and organizational measures to preserve published articles and associated bibliographic information. Digital preservation activities include regular backups and maintenance of the journal’s hosting and database infrastructure.
The journal aims to ensure that published articles remain accessible even in the event of technical disruption or changes to the journal’s publishing platform.
3. Access to Archived Content
Archived articles remain accessible through the journal website and institutional repository where applicable. Preservation of the scholarly record does not depend on an author’s continued affiliation with an institution.
JSCET does not remove published articles from the scholarly record except where removal is required under the journal’s Corrections and Retractions Policy or applicable legal or ethical requirements.
4. Continuity of Access
In the event of a major disruption to the journal’s website or publishing platform JSCET will take reasonable measures to restore access to its published content using available backups and institutional archival copies.
The journal will periodically review its archiving arrangements to maintain the reliability, accessibility and long-term preservation of its published scholarly record.
