The template for articles to be submitted to JSCET can be found at this link. Failure to adhere to these guidelines shall lead to manuscript rejection at the desk evaluation stage.

1. Manuscript Preparation

• Language: Manuscripts must be written in UK English. 
• Abstract: Maximum of 250 words written in a single paragraph. It should highlight the problems, objectives, approach, and significance of the work.
• Keywords: Provide 3 to 6 keywords for indexing.
• Structure: Follow this order: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements/Funding, Conflict of Interest Statement, Authors’ Contributions, Declaration of Generative AI in the Writing Process, Data Availability/Supplementary Materials, Ethics Statement, References, and Appendix (Optional).
• Formatting: Use the ‘Styles Gallery’ in JSCET Template to format all contents. Do not manually adjust paragraph parameters, indentation, or heading numbering.

2. Main Text Sections

• Introduction
  The Introduction should clearly indicate the research problem and provide sufficient background for it. The study should be justified by relevant and recent literature. The authors should clearly state the gap in knowledge and the importance of the problem from a scientific or engineering point of view. The chosen research approach should have a rationale based on the theories, principles or past studies. The section should end with clearly stated research objectives, research questions, or hypotheses.
  Materials and methods
  The Methodology should include a systematic description of research design, sources of data, experimental or analytical procedures and parameters considered in the study. Authors should describe clearly the scientific, engineering, statistical or mathematical procedures that were used to solve the research problem. The governing equations and assumptions, model parameters, boundary conditions, validation procedures and performance indicators should be provided where applicable. We should give enough details to make the work transparent, reproducible and technically credible.
• Results and Discussion
  In the Results and Discussion section the main findings should be presented clearly and concisely using tables, graphs, figures, diagrams of a high quality and other appropriate visualisations. All figures and tables have to be sufficiently explained in the text and be referenced. Authors should interpret the results with reference to suitable scientific or engineering principles rather than simply reporting numerical findings. The results should also be compared with previous research, established theories, standards, or expected behaviour to demonstrate their importance, similarities, differences, and possible explanations.
• Conclusions
  The Conclusion should be explicitly related to the research objectives and summarise the most important findings, without restating the Results and Discussion section. The practical, scientific or engineering implications of the study should be clearly stated. The scope and applicability of the findings should be defined by identifying the main limitations. References and citations should not be included in this section, but appropriate suggestions and future research opportunities should be provided.

3. Tables, Figures, and Equations

• Tables: Numbered with Arabic numerals with bold headings placed above the table. Use only horizontal lines.
• Figures: Numbered with Arabic numerals with captions placed below the illustration. Images must be at least 300 dpi (high resolution) and minimum 500×500 pixels.
• Equations: Typed and numbered consecutively in parentheses on the right-hand side of the page.

4. Mandatory Declarations

• Acknowledgements/Funding: Mandatory for all manuscripts. Provide in full the details of any grants and funding institution that contribute to the generation of knowledge as presented in the manuscript.
• Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work. 
• Authors’ Contributions: State individual contributions clearly (e.g., using CRediT taxonomy).
• Declaration of Generative AI in the Writing Process: If AI was used in the writing process (restricted to improving readability), a formal statement disclosing the tool and reason must be included.
• Data Availability/Supplementary Materials: To foster transparency and reproducibility, authors must provide a “Supplementary Materials” section at the end of their manuscript containing a persistent link (DOI or URL) to all supporting research data, code, or protocols hosted on reputable repositories.
• Ethics Statement: Mandatory for all manuscripts. State if the study involved living subjects and include committee approval numbers if applicable.

5. References

• Style: References and in-text citations must follow the APA 7th edition style.

• Formatting: List references alphabetically at the end of the paper. Ensure all cited works have corresponding entries in the list. URLs and DOIs for the references must be provided.
