Submissions

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission’s compliance with all of the following items. Submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines:

  • Originality: The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • Format: The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format (.docx).
  • Length & Size: The manuscript is not more than 15 pages and 25MB in size.
  • References: Where available, URLs and DOIs for the references must be provided.
  • Stylistic Compliance: The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines and the official JSCET template.
  • Permissions: Authors have obtained permission for any figures or diagrams published in other publications. Proof of permission must be submitted together with the manuscript.
 

Author Guidelines

The template for articles to be submitted to JSCET can be found at this link. Failure to adhere to these guidelines shall lead to manuscript rejection at the desk evaluation stage.

  1. Manuscript Preparation
  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in English
  • Abstract: Maximum of 300 words written in a single paragraph. It should highlight the problems, objectives, approach, and significance of the work.
  • Keywords: Provide 3 to 6 keywords for indexing.
  • Structure: Follow this order: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Main text, Acknowledgements/Funding, Conflict of Interest Statement, Authors’ Contributions, Declaration of Generative AI in the Writing Process, Data Availability/Supplementary Materials, Ethics Statement, References, and Appendix (Optional).
  • Formatting: Use the ‘Styles Gallery’ in JSCET Template to format all contents. Do not manually adjust paragraph parameters, indentation, or heading numbering.

 

  1. Main Text Sections
  • 1.0 INTRODUCTION: Outline the research problem, justifications through literature, and scientific correctness of the approach.
  • 2.0 METHODOLOGY: Systematically provide the design problems, scientific/mathematical approaches, and analyzed parameters.
  • 3.0 RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Present high-quality graphs and diagrams. Relate results to fundamentals of science or compare with existing literature.
  • 4.0 CONCLUSION: Relate findings to objectives, state limitations, and suggest future opportunities.

 

  1. Tables, Figures, and Equations
  • Tables: Numbered with Arabic numerals with bold headings placed above the table. Use only horizontal lines.
  • Figures: Numbered with Arabic numerals with captions placed below the illustration. Images must be at least 300 dpi (high resolution) and minimum 500×500 pixels.
  • Equations: Typed and numbered consecutively in parentheses on the right-hand side of the page.

 

  1. Mandatory Declarations
  • Acknowledgements/Funding: Mandatory for all manuscripts. Provide in full the details of any grants and funding institution that contribute to the generation of knowledge as presented in the manuscript.
  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work. 
  • Authors’ Contributions: State individual contributions clearly (e.g., using CRediT taxonomy).
  • Declaration of Generative AI in the Writing Process: If AI was used in the writing process (restricted to improving readability), a formal statement disclosing the tool and reason must be included.
  • Data Availability/Supplementary Materials: To foster transparency and reproducibility, authors must provide a “Supplementary Materials” section at the end of their manuscript containing a persistent link (DOI or URL) to all supporting research data, code, or protocols hosted on reputable repositories.
  • Ethics Statement: Mandatory for all manuscripts. State if the study involved living subjects and include committee approval numbers if applicable.

 

  1. References
  • Style: References and in-text citations must follow the APA 7th edition style.
  • Formatting: List references alphabetically at the end of the paper. Ensure all cited works have corresponding entries in the list. Where available, URLs and DOIs for the references must be provided.
