Peer Review Integrity Statement
JSCET is committed to upholding the highest standards of peer review integrity. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed to ensure impartial evaluation. Each manuscript is assessed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field, who evaluate the work based on its quality, validity, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Peer-Review Process Statement
The flowchart’s illustration (Figure 1) of the journal review procedure provides a methodical and comprehensive way to evaluate and publish manuscripts in the Journal of Science, Engineering, and Technology (JSCET). The process commences when the author submits their manuscript to JSCET. The Chief Editors (CE) or Managing Editor (ME) conducts an initial evaluation of the submitted manuscript. At this stage, the CE or ME may promptly reject the manuscript if it fails to meet specific criteria, such as surpassing a similarity index of 20% or not conforming to JSCET’s formatting guidelines. After passing the initial evaluation, an Associate Editor (AE) distributes the manuscript to reviewers for the first round of assessment.
The double-blind review process usually lasts for 14 days. The double-blind review process guarantees the anonymity of both authors and reviewers, thereby preserving the review’s impartiality and integrity. After receiving feedback from the reviewers, the AE evaluates the comments. If revisions are necessary, the manuscript advances to the second round of review, a double-blind process that takes place in a shorter timeframe of 7 days. We allot a designated timeframe for authors to make revisions: 14 days for major modifications and 7 days for minor revisions. The AE evaluates the manuscript again after the second round of reviews and revisions, considering the changes made. The AE sends the revised manuscript to either the CE or the ME for a final decision. The CE, in collaboration with the AE and ME, has the ultimate authority to decide whether to accept or reject the manuscript.
If the CE or ME rejects the manuscript at this point, they will inform the author of their decision. The Copy Editor (CoE) receives the approved manuscript and manages its publication in JSCET. Only manuscripts of exceptional quality and rigorous evaluation receive publication, upholding the journal’s standards and reputation within the academic community.
